In today’s video, I’m going to show you how to install a font in Windows 10.
Installing your preferred fonts allows you to customize the appearance of text on your computer. You can choose fonts that match your personal style or enhance the aesthetics of your documents.
To get started:
1. Open up Google Chrome and go to dafont.com, which is a font website where you can browse and download fonts to use on your computer.
2. For testing purposes, I’m going to click on the download button next to this font.
3. Now that the font has downloaded to my downloads folder on my computer, I’m going to head to my downloads folder to find it.
4. You’ll notice that the font has been downloaded as a .zip file. Double click on the .zip file to open it up.
5. Now double click on the font file. A dialog window will now open up displaying a preview of the font.
6. To install the font, click on the “Install” button that’s located at the top left of the dialog window.
7. The font will now install, and will be available to use.
8. If we open up Microsoft Paint, and add some text, you’ll see that we can now use the newly installed font.
And it’s as easy as that, downloading and installing new fonts in Windows 10 is a simple task to perform.
Why is installing your own fonts useful?
In summary, installing your own fonts on your computer provides you with the flexibility to personalize your computing experience, ensures consistency across documents, supports creativity, and is particularly beneficial for individuals with specific design, branding, or language requirements.
