This engine was installed in two dozen VAG models. These include all Golf 5 and Golf 6 platform models, such as the Jetta, Touran, Caddy, Skoda Octavia A5, Seat Toledo, and Altea. This engine was also installed in the Audi A3 and Passat B6.
Condensation is present in 1.6 BSE engines from the moment they are manufactured and when using different engine oils.
With daily temperature fluctuations, the temperature under the valve cover is below the dew point (the dew point is the air temperature at which the water vapor contained in it reaches saturation and begins to condense into dew), causing condensation to form. Since the bottom of the filler neck is covered in an oil film, OIL + CONDENSATE = EMULSION.
The oil filler tube is designed to cool quickly while the engine remains warm. This causes condensation in this part of the engine, and nothing can be done about it in winter, as the engine still contains air and crankcase gases, which contain moisture. The main thing is to ensure that the oil is not emulsified, such as on the dipstick itself. Drops of condensation entering the engine will evaporate due to the high engine temperature and then settle as condensation on the cap.
