How to install PS4 System Software on new hard drive:
This procedure is for initializing your PS4™ system and performing a new installation of the system software, such as for when you replace the hard disk drive.
All data on the new hard drive will be deleted.
The following things are needed to perform the update:
PS4 system
USB stick with 1.2 GB of free space
On the USB storage device, create folders for the update file.
Create a folder named "PS4" and Inside that folder, create another folder named "UPDATE".
Download the update file, and save it in the "UPDATE" folder you created in step 1.

Turn off the PS4 console
Connect the USB stick to your PS4 console
The unit will start in 'Safe Mode'
Select Initialize PS4 (Reinstall System Software)
Follow the steps on screen
If your PS4 console does not read the update file, check the folder and file names.
