The indigenous people of the Xingu Indigenous Territory (MT) demand that their right to Free, Prior and Informed Consultation be respected. They are 8,000 people from 16 different tribes who maintain almost 3 million hectares of standing forest. With their lands increasingly threatened by deforestation, the expansion of agriculture and infrastructure projects, they are fighting to ensure that their Consultation Protocol is taken into account in any decision that impacts their lives.
