Today I’m going to share with you a running list of safety measures that I’ve kept in my phone over the last half year. I’ve carefully vetted these tips and condensed my notes into the advice in this video.
One of the most common questions that I’ve been asked when I tell people I’ve been traveling solo for about 11k miles including sleeping in my car is that people want to know, “did you feel safe doing that?” ….The answer is YES — the majority of the time. However, this wasn’t just a question of mind over matter. I felt safe because I had prepared for this. The steps you take behind the scenes of a long road trip or camping adventure can give you much more peace of mind or sense of security.
We are going to cover everything from how to prepare your car for a long drive, how to choose a campground location, how to set up once you’re there, and what are some travel essentials to have on the road with you.
This video is great for beginners who are new to travel and car camping, but I think can also be a good refresher for more seasoned adventurers.
Car camping and driving can allow you to travel on a budget as they are generally more inexpensive than hotels and air travel. My goal with this video is to make you feel more safe and secure on your travels, so that you can feel like this IS a possibility for you —whether you’re a woman, man or other gender identity, you CAN do this safely.
