Welcome back to Meink WinLab! In today's video, I will show you an advanced method to clean install Windows 10 or Windows 11 while backing up and restoring all your exact system drivers. The best part? We are doing this entirely from the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) using DISM++ – meaning NO bootable USB or external hard drive is needed!
⚠️ CRITICAL WARNING & STRICT DISCLAIMER (READ BEFORE PROCEEDING) ⚠️
This is an advanced technical tutorial that involves modifying core system partitions and wiping hard drives.
DATA LOSS RISK: Formatting the wrong partition WILL permanently destroy your files. You must double-check drive letters in WinRE, as they often differ from your normal Windows environment.
PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK: Meink WinLab and its creator assume absolutely NO responsibility or liability for any data loss, system damage, unbootable devices, or hardware issues that may occur by following this guide.
MANDATORY BACKUP: Before doing anything, back up your crucial personal files (documents, photos, projects) to a cloud service or a separate physical drive. Do NOT skip this step!
📋 STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
If you are ready, follow these exact steps as shown in the video:
Phase 1: Preparation (In normal Windows)
Download the Windows ISO: Ensure you have the exact Windows 10/11 ISO file saved on a non-system partition (e.g., Drive D: or E:).
Prepare DISM++: Download and extract the DISM++ software to a folder outside of your C: drive.
Backup Drivers: Create a "Drivers" folder. Open DISM++, go to the 'Drivers' section, click 'All', and Export your current drivers to this new folder.
Phase 2: Entering WinRE & Mounting ISO
4. Boot to Recovery: Hold the [Shift] key and click "Restart" from the Start Menu. Go to Troubleshoot, Advanced Options, Command Prompt.
5. Find the ISO: Type notepad in the command prompt. Go to File, Open. Change 'Files of type' to 'All Files'. Use this window as a file explorer to locate your Windows ISO. Right-click the ISO and select 'Mount' (or extract it beforehand).
6. Open DISM++ in WinRE: Navigate to your extracted DISM++ folder through the Notepad trick, right-click the executable, and Run as Administrator.
Phase 3: Installing Windows & Injecting Drivers
7. Apply Image: In DISM++, go to File, Apply Image.
8. Select Paths: Top box: Select the install.wim or install.esd from your ISO. Bottom box: Select your target Windows installation partition (Verify the drive letter carefully!).
9. Crucial Checkboxes: Make sure to check "Add Boot" (to make it bootable) and "Format" (to clean the old system). Click OK and wait for the image to apply.
10. Inject Drivers Offline: Once applied, click "Open Session". Go back to the 'Drivers' section, click 'Add', and point it to the folder where you backed up your drivers in Step 3.
11. Reboot: Close DISM++ and Command Prompt, then click "Continue" to boot into your fresh Windows installation with all drivers pre-installed!
