WW2 British Army hangover cure: the Suffering Bastard
It's 1942. You're a rough-and-tubble chap fightin' for the Crown, and you and your fellow Brits have had a long few weeks chasing the Germans through the Egyptian desert.
You stubble into the Long Bar at The Shepheard Hotel. As legend has it, the bartender takes one look at you and your dusty, tired countrymen, and reaches for the gin... and bourbon, for some reason.
The cocktail born on that day is known as the Suffering Bastard.
Is it the reason the Allies won the war? Probably.
Can it cure a hangover? Sure, why not.
Should you make it this weekend? Maayyyybee not.
