Gigafactory Texas on 26 June 2023! This is where Model Y’s are built and soon Cyber Truck production will start!
Lots of activity on this last week of the second quarter here at Giga Texas! The biggest news items are the continued removal of south end exterior concrete panels, now 5 panels wide uncovering the entire Stamping 2 section, so we get great views inside today!
Also, the west main entrance steel beams and columns of the architectural "tunnel" design are getting the stainless-steel cladding installed, with trucks arriving with these new parts and the concrete and trapezoidal feature being covered with plywood sheets for protection.
Finally, the Megapack site is getting the first of the transformers installed, while more concrete pads are being placed along the entire length of the site where the Megapacks will be installed, and on the north end, more steel assembly and electrical connections are being made!

Here are some additional highlights from today's drone flight!
On the roof near where the south end concrete wall panels have been removed, we see crews removing some of the roofing material and preparing to cut rectangular openings into the roof decking to install more vent bases. The enclosures for these new vents are still located near the temporary loading platform on the southwest corner of the main building.
West of the main highway, we see continued grading work in the central section of the entire west support area site, while more work extending the future road via earthwork continues on the north end. We also see large underground storm water pipes being installed on along the south side of the expanded Tesla Road, spanning the entire width from FM 973 over to SH-130.
On the south end of the electrical switchyard, we see the first concrete wall sections of the underground vault have been completed, and crews were removing and then repositioning the forms to continue the next section of the wall construction. Also south of the temporary switchyard, we see crews working to install electrical conduit in and out of two large concrete vaults. The conduit extends to the north and will eventually connect into the underground vaults we mentioned previously, and the south to connect this conduit to that which has already been installed, running all the way to the battery cathode complex of structures.
On the east side of the battery cathode plant, a new foundation with now wall forms along two long trenches are emerging, as is the overall outline of the perimeter grade beam of the new structure. On the south end, more work on the underground vault continues, with forms and concrete pours underway. On the north end of the battery cathode plant, most of the windows have now been installed, wrapping around the 3rd floor end of the building.
On the northeast corner of the casting machine structure, we see more conduits being laid in the widened berm area, and work on the main junction vaults that run the conduit to the north, under Tesla Road and to the new electrical switchyard.
