"God bless WOC! The work is more urgent than ever. Please continue to support this movement because it will revolutionize countless societies, and it really truly will dismantle patriarchy. Happy 48th anniversary WOC! I am so honored to be on this journey with you, to be a part of you. And you have my heart forever." - Jamie Manson

Jamie Manson has often been a solitary voice speaking out about gender equality, sexuality, and reproductive health in the Catholic church. She was raised by a single mom and her immigrant grandparents in New York. She heard a call to the priesthood as a young girl, which eventually led her to Yale Divinity School where she studied under Sister Margaret Farley, RSM, before becoming a long-time columnist at the National Catholic Reporter. She came out as a lesbian in her first column in 2008, elevating the voices and stories of LGBTQIA+ Catholics at a much unfriendlier time in the church and society. Jamie’s 20 years of thought leadership as a Catholic theologian, lay minister, and activist inspires women and queer people in the church to claim the place at the table that we all deserve.
