Old 2,000 tenge banknotes will become invalid.
The National Bank of Kazakhstan has set a two-year circulation period for both the old and new 2,000 tenge banknotes. These banknotes will be withdrawn from circulation on March 28, 2015, according to the KazTAG news agency. In the meantime, second-tier banks will issue old and new banknotes from their cash desks and through ATMs to individuals and legal entities, and will accept new and old banknotes without restrictions.
