Shane Dawson reveals that he’s going to take a break from the internet
And explains why he doesn’t post as much anymore

Okay so Shane Dawson just took to twitter to explain why he doesn’t post that much to YouTube anymore. Obviously we all know, it’s a whole event when Shane does upload a new video or series, but nowadays that only really happens a few times a year.
Shane explained why this is, via twitter writing QUOTE “Hey Shane why don’t u post more? Why don’t u upload more? Well... this you would think after 13 years on youtube comments wouldn’t get to me but damn... they still feel like the very first time haha”
In the same tweet, he shared a screenshot of a super gross and mean comment that said “I love Shane but it’s a damn shame to watch him putting all this weight back on while everyone around him laughs and enables it.”
I could imagine for most people, seeing any comments like this must be upsetting, especially when your videos get as many views and comments as Shane’s.
He then posted a second tweet, thanking his followers for their kind words following his explanation, but added that he plans to take a little break from the internet, writing QUOTE “Thanks for the nice tweets. I appreciate it a lot. Sorry I got sensitive and posted that. I usually just ignore stuff but I’m just in a weird headspace lately :/ I think I’m gonna take a break from the internet for a bit. Thanks for being supportive and having my back”
So who knows how long the break will be but obviously mental health is very important and we just hope the break helps him get back into a good headspace and that hopefully this tweet makes people think twice about leaving those terrible comments.
