This fish is one of the scariest looking fishes in the world.
With its skin-covered eyes, horrendous teeth, and angry looking expression it’s something that would only appear in your most terrifying nightmares.
Adding its uncanny resemblance to the ‘chestburster’ creature in Alien movies, you better watch when going anywhere near the eel goby.
Also known as the Worm Goby, this little demon could grow up to 30 centimetres. Well, anything bigger than that and you might really sh*t your pants.
These critters mainly prey on small fish and crustaceans.
They are amphidromous, which means that they regularly migrate between sea and freshwater.
They have poorly-developed eyes, often covered by skin, because they live in turbid water and rely on touch rather than sight to catch their prey.
Interestingly, in certain cuisines, they are considered delicacies. If you're curious about their taste, you'll have to find out for yourselves.
