How to test Barite
There are multiple tests that can be done on barite -
1 - testing for drilling grade barite using API 13A (tests for density, purity, and sizing)
2 - testing for the barite (BaSO4) concentration using x-ray powder diffraction testing (XRD)
3 - testing for the heavy metals concentration, which is required by EPA for use as drilling barite on offshore rigs (such as cadmium, mercury, arsenic, etc.)
