This week’s devlog is a quick update on validating the core tooling for Ben’s Almanac’s automated presentation builder.
After comparing LaTeX/Beamer, Google Slides API, and python-pptx, I ran the first end-to-end test to confirm that Python can reliably generate PowerPoint files in my environment. The good news: it works cleanly and consistently.
The raw output highlighted some major formatting limitations, so the plan going forward is to anchor the slides to a custom .potx template. Next week’s goal is to finalize that template and build the small “slide lexicon” that the automation pipeline will reuse for all future devlogs.
