General Ivan Vasilyevich Panfilov was a brilliant commander during the Great Patriotic War. Thanks to him and the 316th Division he trained, the Battle of Moscow was won. Ivan Vasilyevich Panfilov entered the military in 1915, and during the Civil War, he served in Chapaev's division. After the outbreak of World War II, General Panfilov was tasked with forming the 316th Rifle Division, which was urgently transferred to the Volokolamsk Highway near Moscow. There, in the Battle of Moscow, Panfilov and the 316th Division accomplished a feat worthy of history. Panfilov was later awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
