Isabel visits doctor Pintos and informs him, that he is no longer in charge in Guerrero's companies and other economic interests. The new person, who will care of the companies, is herself. Fernando gives orders to his secretary, Marcia, that he wants to make a call to Isabel' house. He quickly changes his mind and gives another orders, which are confused. Manuela limps home, where she is comfort by Mercedes. Madame Guerrero gives orders to Bernarda to guard and watch Isabel in future. Then she dies. Cella and Beningno are tidying up the Guerrero's residence, when Benigno receives the call - madame Guerrero died. Isabel returns home gives orders to Benigno. Benigno interrupts her and tells her, that her mom passed away. Isabel returns to hospital and visits her deceased mother in hospital room. Isabel asks Bernarda to open the window. Then she orders Bernarda to leave and begins to cry. Bernarda returns and tries to comfort Isabel, but she refuses and tells Bernarda, she should behave as it coresponds to her. Doctor Pintos visits the Guerrero's residence and talks with Benigno. After a while, he wants to enter the library. He isn't granted access by Benigno, and leaves. After that, first argue between Isabel and Bernarda occurs, regarding to bad inappropriate behaviour of Bernarda towards Isabel. Bernarda cries and prays for warmer reception by Isabel. Doctor Pintos visits the house again and again he tries to get into library, but he fails, because of Bernarda prevents him from doing so. After short argue, Isabel orders him out of the house. Corrado and Mercedes change their opinion about what the children of Rodolfo could(n't) know about woman, who left Corrado pregnant at Sicily. Madame Guerrero is intombed, Fernando tries to get closer to Isabel, with no success.
