The Elegoo Centauri Carbon has been, perhaps not too busy. In this long‑term review I break down what actually mattered after the honeymoon: the dim chamber light, the louder‑than‑average fans, a hotend clog from switching nylon to PLA without a purge (my mistake), PTFE routing concerns, strong print quality, and why this machine ultimately doesn’t fit me —even though it absolutely can be a great starter for the right user.

🔬 In this video, we cover:
✅ Reliability snapshot: ~400 hours in ~6 months; one clog caused by nylon→PLA swap without purge, and otherwise solid print quality.
✅ Noise & lighting: It shipped loud with weak chamber lighting, but newer units come with a quieter fan and better lights—important if you print overnight or in dim rooms.
✅ PTFE path: Steep entry angle and potential kinks when the toolhead hits back‑left extremes—what to watch for if you print near the edges.
✅ No AMS (yet): Multicolor/material convenience isn’t here; rumors swirl about a “CC2,” but for now you’ll rely on single‑spool workflows.
✅ Beginner‑plus hardware: Hardened steel extruder gears, hardened nozzle, and a 320 °C hotend—we even ran PPS‑CF in our first look, which most “entry” machines can’t touch.
✅ Who it’s for: Fantastic value around €300 if you want to move beyond PLA into tougher materials; less compelling if you already own a heated‑chamber rig or an AMS setup.
