Two major Orange County races are colliding and there are questions voters deserve answered before the August 18 election.

We break down the connections between Orange County Clerk of Courts Tiffany Moore Russell and clerk candidate Roberta Walton, including Walton’s past federal felony convictions, her rise within the Clerk of Courts office, and questions surrounding her alleged access to sensitive criminal justice information.

Walton has publicly said she has a “limited arrangement” with FDLE regarding access to criminal history information. But according to the information, FDLE has stated that no certification or request for a determination was received for Walton.

So where is the documentation?

We also examine why Tiffany Moore Russell, who worked with Walton for 11 years and knew about her felony convictions, NEVER appears to have sought formal approval regarding her access and what that could mean for the upcoming Orange County mayoral race.

These are serious questions involving public trust, transparency, government oversight and the security of sensitive information.

With the August 18 election approaching, we ask: What do Orange County voters need to know before they cast their ballots?
