In this video, I analyze a fairly common mistake when beginners in Adobe Illustrator accidentally create a Pattern Swatch fill from a colored square by dragging it to the Swatches panel. The person thinks that the fill is the color that he dragged to the panel, but in fact it is a pattern fill, that is, it will be a pattern of squares. All this can cause a lot of problems in the future: you can’t send the vector to the plotter, you can’t upload it to the stocks, and you’re out.
If you accidentally created a texture fill when you dragged a color square into the Swatches panel, just hover over it and Illustrator will show you the New Pattern Swatch. To create a regular fill, drag a color from the toolbar from the Fill square. You can also use the Add Selected Colors command in the Swatches panel.
Don't disassemble such patterns, it will only make things worse. You just need to recolor the objects back to their normal colors.
