Many schools want to stop students from sharing Google Drive files with each other as it causes numerous classroom management issues and information security issues. Although Google added features to restrict drive sharing with outside school domains, it doesn't prevent students from sharing files inside the domain. What Safe Doc does is that it blocks students from sharing and receiving docs and files, but teachers are still able to share docs and files to students.
