Driving south on Route 40, from Mitzpe Ramon to the Neot Semadar junction, is a spectacular, mesmerizing, and wild journey. The route begins at the heights of Mitzpe Ramon, plunges into the primordial landscapes of the Ramon Crater (the world's largest erosion crater), and continues through the endless expanses of the desert plains all the way to the Neot Semadar region.
Along the drive, the road crosses the massive riverbeds of the southern Negev, such as Nahal Paran and Nahal Tzihor, which famously flood the highway during the winter season.
A true desert drive filled with vast open spaces, tranquility, and unique geological wonders.
