Kudzu/kuzu red bean "bun" wagashi (how to) and Japanese green tea tasting.
I recently purchased a Japanese green tea sampler pack from a new local Japanese tea supplier (Kawagiri Teas Toronto) and decided to share a couple of their teas. Also, a decades long goal of mine was to learn to make some wagashi (traditional Japanese desserts). Life...happened and I just recently picked it back up. Decided to make kudzu mantou or "bun" that is filled with red bean. There is definitely some cross-over with some Chinese desserts as the kudzu powder I was using is also called géfěn (葛粉) in Chinese. Kudzu powder is made from the root of the Kudzu plant which is Chinese or Japanese arrowroot.
