Raspberry Pi - Q4OS 2.6 - Trinity Desktop Environment
Testing out the new Q4OS 2.6 with RPi 3B+. Really liked this release as the DE looks beautiful and user-friendly without compromising the speed. This is by far the most optimised OS for SBC devices I’ve tried to date. I also have this on one of my Virtual Box.
I’ve made some modifications like:
1. add more optimisation using ram and swap
2. Fix incompatibility issues on PulseAudio
3. Replace the kde mixer to eliminate the sound control issues
4. A little bit of controlled over clocking based on a result of benchmarking and stress tests
5. Replaced the VLC with an optimised version to play high reso videos
This is currently included in a package I’ve created for release to all Dakowd MiniPC. basic package release is bundled in a Multi-boot loader to have 3 OS options - Desktop, LibreElec, and Retropie.
I am using the most elegant (IMO) passive cooling case (Flirc).
