The Cossack society, being a society of war, nevertheless produced its own unique creativity, including musical and literary. The main body of these works has no specific authorship - the so-called folk Cossack dumas, songs and poems, starting from the 15th century, have come down to us in the performance of wandering blind singers - kobzars, bandurists and lyre players, and most of these works were created by their predecessors - Cossacks, who due to severe injuries could no longer fight, but accompanied the army on campaigns and inspired and cheered up the soldiers by performing heroic songs. However, the authors of some dramatic, poetic and fiction works written by representatives of the Cossack class, the Cossacks themselves, are known. Today we will talk about them.
