How To Enable/Disable PAYG In NTC And NCELL ?
Both Nepal Telecom (NTC) and Ncell provide users with an option to enable or disable PAYG (Pay As You Go) service. The feature available through USSD code on both networks allows you to either continue or stop using data, which can help save balance when the data pack is used up. The post guides you through the steps to turn on/off PAYG in Ntc and Ncell networks.
What is PAYG?
PAYG is a feature that lets you use mobile data even after a data pack has expired or been used up on your mobile balance. To illustrate, when you buy a pack and use data to browse, your balance is untouched until the pack is used. But right after the data pack expires, your balance powers the data, meaning that the balance is deducted for using data.
How to enable/disable PAYG in Ntc?
Do this to turn on/off PAYG in Ntc:
Open the Phone app
Dial *444#
Enter the number 4 in the field
Enter 1 to disable, 2 to enable, and 3 to check status
How to enable/disable PAYG in Ncell?
These are the steps to enable/disable PAYG in Ncell:
Open the Phone app
Dial *9005*5#
Enter 1 to activate or 2 to deactivate PAYG
If the steps don’t complete and you see an error, I suggest you give it another try. I did it on both networks after a couple of attempts. It works.
Once again, thanks to both telcos, PAYG will help us prevent the nasty balance shock scenario when a data pack is exhausted.
