1994 Opel Vectra A c18nz Won't Start and Check Engine Light Won't Turn On
In this video, I explain and show what happened to my 1994 Opel Vectra A with a C 18 NZ engine.
One fine morning, November 16, 2017, I got ready for work as usual. I got in the car and started it, but after about 30 seconds, the car suddenly stalled. I tried to start it, but to no avail.
Then I noticed that the check engine light on the dashboard was out. I immediately started looking for the reason why it had stopped working, as I was sure that was why the car wouldn't start. I finally found the problem.
It turned out that fluid was dripping from the power steering reservoir, or more precisely from the hoses leading to it, onto the connector with the ignition coil contacts. It turned out that dirt and oil slurry had caused the contact to fail.
After removing all the dirt and oil, I insulated the connector with electrical tape and reassembled everything.
RESULT: The check engine light is on, the car starts as usual.
