3D effects in Adobe Illustrator:
⸻
Step 1: Open Your Document
Launch Adobe Illustrator and open a new or existing file. Select the object, text, or shape you want to convert into 3D.
Step 2: Access the 3D Tools
Go to the Effects menu on the top bar. Navigate to 3D and Materials. Illustrator offers options like Extrude & Bevel, Revolve, and Inflate for different 3D looks.
Step 3: Choose Extrude & Bevel
Select Extrude & Bevel to give your object depth. In the dialog box, adjust the Extrude Depth slider to control thickness. Use the rotation cube or angle settings to change the perspective.
Step 4: Use Revolve for Circular Designs
For round or cylindrical shapes, choose Revolve. Adjust the angle to revolve your path around an axis, creating smooth, 3D objects.
Step 5: Customize Materials and Lighting
In the 3D and Materials panel, modify surface materials, shadows, and lighting for realistic effects. You can change color, metallic textures, or glossiness.
Step 6: Expand Appearance
Once satisfied, go to Object - Expand Appearance to convert the effect into editable vector paths.
Step 7: Save Your Work
Save your Illustrator file or export it for other formats. Your 3D effect is ready!
