In this Qore Performance INSIGHTS episode, we examine the USMC Plate Carrier Generation 3 (PC Gen 3) โ the plate carrier introduced to Marine Corps infantry and infantry-like MOS' in 2019. Developed to replace the legacy Improved Modular Tactical Vest (IMTV) and the previous Plate Carrier (PC), the PC Gen 3 was created to support Marine operations by reducing bulk, enhancing range of motion, and adapting to mission-specific needs.
The PC Gen 3 is built to allow Marines to adjust their armor levels based on environmental and mission requirements, offering a more streamlined and versatile approach to protection. With a lighter design, improved fit, and enhanced mobility, the PC Gen 3 aims to improve shooting, movement, and communication for Marines in the field.
