The “Global Animation Start/Stop Toggle” was created as a solution to one of my recurring challenges: Often, an animation is still running in the background even though the IT/IK is active. This is either to optimize the static elements slightly or because you have a mix of IT/IK and an existing animation. In any case, the IKs/ITs are always moving slightly, making them hard to click on, etc. To make a change, or perhaps to place keyframes from a specific animation into the timeline, you first have to stop the animation. Or, even worse, if you’re working with gimmicks linked to the object (e.g., rotators, shakers), you first have to click on these objects and set the speed to 0 in the objects animation window. This tool stops any animation of all objects in the scene with a single click and saves the last applied speed in the process. Once you’ve made all your changes, you can also set everything back in motion with a single click. This saves a lot of time and frustration.
