Hey everyone! Today, I'm sharing my latest experience on Upwork, which recently sparked a viral conversation on LinkedIn.
I received an invitation to apply for a job on Upwork, and to my surprise, it required Connects to submit a proposal. This was confusing because, in the past, invited proposals were free to submit. I posted about this on LinkedIn, and it quickly went viral, with freelancers from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and around the world joining the discussion.
Upwork responded to my post, explaining that starting June 6, 2024, Connects will be required for all job applications, even those from invitations. This change aims to ensure that clients receive proposals from the most interested freelancers.
