The Soviet Union was not destined to collapse. Mikhail Gorbachev tried to reform the Union, where on the 17th of March 1991 there was a referendum on the future of the Soviet Union, asking the people if they consider it necessary to preserve the USSR, where 77.85% voted in favor, while 22.15% voted against.
So, what if Mikhail Gorbachev managed to save the Soviet Union and potentially ruled it until his death in 2022? Let me show you what I came up with!
