Today, we'll take a walk and drive through the New Belgrade district. (Novi Beograd) in Belgrade: we'll explore the streets, buildings, avenues, offices of several international and Russian companies, and also see the building of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs, where all foreigners residing in Belgrade apply for legal residence and driving privileges within the country.
The district is located on the other side of the Sava River and is the city's business center.
It's important to note that Novi Beograd was built after the war, so it offers noticeably more space, wide avenues, much easier parking than in the city center, numerous green spaces, bike paths, and a well-developed infrastructure for everyday life. There are shopping centers and sports complexes here.
On the downside, most of the housing stock is made up of Soviet-era high-rises with low ceilings, but if you search, you can find newer housing at affordable prices.
The population of Novi Beograd is just over 220,000.
The park covers an area of 41 square kilometers, 24% of which is used for industrial purposes, and 14 hectares are occupied by Friendship Park.
The park is home to the Eternal Flame memorial, erected in memory of the victims of the 1999 NATO bombing of countries, and the Alley of Peace, made up of 26 plane trees. These trees were planted by leaders of various countries and celebrities.
