Navigating Between Workbenches CATIA V5 vs 3DEXPERIENCE Explained
In this video, I explore the key differences between navigating workbenches in CATIA V5 and CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE. While CATIA V5 offers a straightforward approach with its classic workbench toolbar, 3DEXPERIENCE introduces a more modern—but sometimes confusing—workflow.
One important thing to keep in mind: in 3DEXPERIENCE, you must select the correct item in the product tree before switching workbenches. If you want to switch to a product-level workbench, make sure a product is selected—otherwise, the software will automatically create a new product. Similarly, if you're switching to a part-level workbench, a part must be selected to avoid unintentionally creating a new one.
Unlike V5, workbench swapping in 3DEXPERIENCE isn't done in the same panel—you'll have to use the dropdown filter and search on the left side of the screen, which takes some getting used to.
