Until you've been through several interviews as a software engineer you may feel rather befuddled by the entire process. In this video we talk about the entire software engineer interview process at a high level to make sure you are prepared for every single step along the way. The first step is almost always a phone screen with a technical sourcer or recruiter, these are fairly low stress and simple. The next one is occasionally a chat with the engineering manager for that role, this doesn't always happen, if you are interviewing at Google or Facebook then you likely won't even know the specific team you'd end up on. From there you'll have a technical phone screen which is normally carried out with a tool like Hacker Rank or Coderpad. Sometimes the technical phone screens are self guided while other times you are interviewing with another software engineer. Assuming all is going well you can expect to be brought in for an onsite interview where you'll do more technical interviews, along with a variety of behavioral ones. If your onsite goes well you can normally expect a verbal job offer within the next week. That's it, I hope this helps you prepare for your next set of software engineer interviews 😊
