Welcome to a special epsiode of AITalks where we talk to IBM leaders' about their views on the automotive industry and how survival and competitiveness are creating demands for enterprise technology decisions.
Joining IBM's Kylie Jones is Brett Hillhouse, David Hogg and Jay Black, sharing perspectives from the USA and Europe on what they are seeing as disruptive market forces impacting consumers, supply chain partners, manufacturers, distributors and retailers such as shortages of rubber, microchips and volatile labour conditions. The panel give focus to how the industry is shifting from traditional ERP solutions that lack the dexterity and insight of growing supply chain settings to enterprise order management platforms, like IBM's Control Towers, to tackle traceability of inventory and increase dexterity within the supply chain. There was even time to discuss the emergence of eletric cars, what this means to the industry and how cities like London and Paris are looking at de-incentives for diesel cars and more imaginative zoning of traffic to accomodate more sustainable results.
Well worth a listen.
