How to Catch Basin Panfish with Electronics [Tips for Mapping, Sonar & MEGA Live]
Ryan DeChaine of Wired2Fish heads out to target basin panfish, specifically crappies, with a suite of Humminbird sonar tools. He shows how to use mapping, 2D sonar, Side Imaging, Down Imaging, and MEGA Live to efficiently target these hungry fall crappies.
The purpose of the video is to show all of the fish finder electronics options for this style of fishing, but don't be discouraged if you do not have all of these tools, this technique can be accomplished with basic mapping and 2D sonar to get the job done.
A word of caution. Barotrauma is a risk to panfish caught from deeper water. DeChaine focuses his efforts on shallower lakes or basins, usually 25 feet or less, to prevent barotrauma to the fish he doesn’t intend to keep.
