This engaging training will prepare youth peer advocates (YPAs) with strategic communication skills to help develop impactful relationships with youth, and mentor youth on how to utilize healthy communication skills. YPA’s can use these skills to bridge the relationship between youth and their service providers. With this knowledge, YPAs will be able to promote the development of healthy relationships between youth and their natural supports. This interactive training will use group discussions to explore using various communication skills and concepts in their as a YPAs. Attendees will develop cultural communication awareness to better communication with youth of diverse backgrounds. By the end of this training, YPAs will feel confident in using and teaching effective communication skills.
