DSLR Shooting Modes Explained: Auto, Aperture Priority, Manual, etc. | Photography Basics
In today’s episode of OrmsTV, Deon briefly explains what the different shooting modes mean, what they are for and when you might like to use them. It's incredibly easy to start using your digital SLR on "Auto" and not ever even look at the other shooting options available to you. It's a shame because they are there for a reason and knowing how to use them -- especially "manual mode" will give you far greater flexibility in your photography.
Camera Settings:
Auto Mode
"P" = Program Mode
"Tv" or "S" = Shutter Priority Mode
"Av" or "A" = Aperture Priority
"M" = Manual Mode
"B" = Bulb Mode
"Sport", "Landscape", "Macro" etc (the pictures of a running man for example) are all variations of auto.
