Sequence of actions
Run on a regular computer
First, you need to format the USB flash drive using the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool. Install, launch, and format the flash drive using the FAT32 file system.
Then make the flash drive bootable using the recovery tool:
install FlashBoot and treat the program with a cure to prevent it from getting sick. Launch and select the following options:
"Convert BartPE bootable disk to bootable flash disk" "Next" "Use ISO-9660"
Use the "Browse" button to select the "BartPE" ISO image. "Next"
"Make bootable USB Flash Disk which..." Next "Partitioned disk (USB-HDD boot mode)"
"Next" "Finish." Wait for the operation to complete, then "Close."
Now simply copy the "ghost" folder (from the archive you downloaded at the beginning) to the flash drive
and the EeePC.gho image (or copy EeePC.gho to another storage device that will fit (an SD card, for example)), and now work with the Eee PC.
Run on an Eee PC
Turn on the laptop and press Esc.
In the menu that appears, select the flash drive you created above as the boot disk. Boot up, wait... Launch "Total Commander" ("Start" "Programs" "Total Commander").
Run ghost32.exe from the "ghost" folder on the USB flash drive. You just need to find it in "Total Commander."
Look in the left column! Double-click ghost32.exe and the process will continue.
Select "Local" "Disk" "From Image."
In "Look In:," select the drive where the image is located, and in the window below, select EeePC.gho. Click "Open."
In the next window, select the drive where you'll extract the image, then select the partition.
(On an Eee PC 4G laptop, it will likely say something like this:
Primary 07 NTFS No name 3787 – select it.) When asked "Proceed with disk restore?", click "YES."
Wait a couple of minutes, and voila! Wait until 100%, then click "Reset Computer" in the window that appears.
Remove the flash drive and boot the laptop with the restored Windows operating system.
