Just a video of the first semi-serious attempt at carving something on my homemade CNC router. Vector tracing is about the easiest thing you can do on one of these so this is far from being an advanced project. Still using scrap plywood I had in the garage. Unfortunately the stain sunk pretty deep (especially where the wrench is).

This was done using Inkscape and the, now included, Gcode Tools Extensions which are all free. The cat and donkey are from the Open SVG collection that has importing built into Inkscape.

The machine is not complete; the real spoil board is not installed, the cable chain is not installed, nor are the limit and e-stop switches. There is also a 3HP water cooled spindle on the way. It is a 500 pound plus steel structure machine, not a typical aluminum extrusion based machine, although those would have no issue doing this type of work.

Apologies for the somewhat shaky camera; it's a phone, and handheld. I should probably get a real one and a tripod (or mount it to the spindle) if I want to post stuff like this.
