VLOGMAS DAY 16 🌊 🇲🇽 🏊🏻♂️ JETSKI ADVENTURE
Just waking up to the sound of waves every morning… I need to move to a coast. 🌊
Welcome to Mexico Day 3 at our jungle-meets-ocean resort.
We start the day slow — taking in the views from the villa and talking about how it’s -20°F back home while we’re out here in a warm, green oasis. Today is our second full day at the resort and the loose plan is: breakfast, sun, maybe an adventure, and a whole lot of doing nothing.
We head to Alma for the all-resort breakfast buffet:
Great spread
Actually really good food
The croissants were the only slightly “meh” part, but everything else was solid
After breakfast, we walk back to the villa to get some steps in. I do a bit of editing, Brett scrolls Instagram and hangs out, and we start scheming about how to spend the afternoon.
Yesterday at the beach club we saw a whale watching boat and tons of humpback action off the coast, so today we decide to try our luck on a jet ski:
Rent a jet ski and head out into the ocean
Spend about an hour cruising around, scanning the horizon
Zero whales spotted… but 10/10 views of the coastline and mountains from the water
Even without whales, it’s super fun, and there’s something about being out on the ocean that just resets your brain. After that, we head to another pool on the property, at Carao:
It’s an infinity edge pool perched on a cliff with insane views
Definitely the “this should be in a resort brochure” spot
The guacamole is next-level good — probably the best I’ve had in a long time
Service there is a little slow/subpar at first, but the views and food make up for it.
One of the things that makes this resort so unique is how spread out everything is. There’s a dedicated concierge/butler who books all of your reservations and arranges golf carts to shuttle you between restaurants, pools, beach clubs, and activities. Our person today is LLuvia, and we ask about a booking at the Italian restaurant on the beach for dinner. It’s fully booked for tonight, but she manages to snag us a spot for tomorrow night and sends a couple of other restaurant options.
The problem? I am not a seven-course-tasting-menu-and-foam-on-a-rock kind of person. All the other options feel a little too fancy and structured for the mood we’re in, so we decide to:
Stay in the villa
Order room service
Sip cocktails, listen to the waves, and just be
We realize we’ve blinked and tomorrow is already our last full day here, and I’m absolutely not ready to leave. Waking up to the sound of waves every morning is… dangerous in all the best ways.
✨ Question of the day:
👉 On vacation, are you team “go out to dinner every night” or team “room service and robes”? And what’s your ideal room service order?
