Southern Towers is home to a vibrant community of immigrant and blue-collar workers, hailing from Somalia, Sudan, Morocco, Tunisia, and Central America, to name a few. Since 2020, tenants and advocates have been fighting to protect their right to stay at the towers, yet, corporate landlord CIM Group refuses to meet the needs of the community they claim to value. Will Southern Towers remain an affordable housing option for the region’s immigrants and low-income workforce?
