How to Highlight the Row and Column of an Active Cell in Microsoft Excel Using Focus Cell
This Microsoft Excel tutorial video shows you how to use the Focus Cell feature. This tutorial covers this feature from Excel for Microsoft 365. The Focus Cell feature when turned on, thickens your Active Cell border and creates a highlighted colour cross section between your row/column on your cell selection (like a target cross).
The Focus Cell feature can be turned on and off using the keyboard or mouse and similarly the colour of the highlight can be changed via either way too. This is a great way of increasing your user accessibility for any spreadsheet. The Focus Cell feature is also persistent- if you turn it on in one spreadsheet tab, it will work automatically in the next spreadsheet tab in your workbook.
Our Excel tutorial will demonstrate how to use turn Focus Cell on and off via both the keyboard and mouse and also how to change the colour of the highlight. We will then demonstrate the effectiveness of the Focus Cell feature via a worked example using simulated data.
