Birth of a Javan Gibbon
Javan Gibbon Hecla gave birth to her seventh infant on 12 July 2010. Although we don't have footage of that birth, Perth Zoo staff caught on film the birth of another of Hecla's offspring, a female called Cahaya, in 2008.
It is thought to be the first time a Javan Gibbon birth has been caught on camera and we thought you might like to see it.
