Dryosaurus (Latin: Dryosaurus) is a genus of Upper Jurassic dinosaurs from the Ornithopoda infraorder, inhabiting the territory of modern North America. It belongs to the family Dryosauridae (Latin: Dryosauridae), which is a group of small and medium-sized bipedal herbivorous dinosaurs.

The first dryosaur fossils were found in western North America, in the Morrison Formation, which contains large deposits of fossil remains of prehistoric animals.

The only currently recognized species of this dinosaur is Dryosaurus altus, although earlier this genus was attributed to 2 more species that were found in England and Tanzania. However, today they are referred to as independent genera Dysalotosaurus (Latin: Dysalotosaurus) and Valdosaurus.

Dryosaurus had a physique typical of Dryosaurids. So, he had long hind limbs, and the tibia was longer than the femur.
Its front (upper) limbs were short and ended in five-fingered hands. The sacrum consisted of 6 fused sacral vertebrae, while the anterior and posterior parts of the pubic bone were long and thin.

Unlike representatives of the Gipsilophodontida family (Latin: Hypsilophodontidae), its premaxillary bone, located in front of the upper jaw, was devoid of teeth. The jaws of the Dryosaurus ended in a horny beak.
