Apache Kafka is an open-source stream-processing platform. It can process high volume, real-time data feeds and has found use at a wide variety of companies. James Grant presents an introduction to Kafka, discussing what it does, how it does it and why you'd want to use it. He will then focus on the compaction mode for log cleanup, which can be used for distributed read-only copies of a data store.
We're pleased to welcome James Grant to speak again. James is currently Senior Software Engineer at Hotels.com and has years of Kafka experience.
