Manage YouTube Mid-Roll Ads
YouTube is updating how it shows mid-roll ads in longer videos. If an ad is not inserted at a natural ad break, it is considered interruptive, and the ad will not be shown there.
If you are inserting ads at regular intervals, like every minute, it's likely that many of those ad slots are considered interruptive and won't show an ad when this change goes into effect.
YouTube recommends enabling automatically inserted mid-roll ads, even you have already manually inserted ad breaks. But you can turn the automatic midrolls off if you really don't want them.
Check the monetization settings for videos where you have added mid-roll ads manually. It will show whether there are interruptive ad slots.
You can either delete interruptive ad slots, or move those slots to a natural break in your video.
This change goes into effect in May.
