Elizabeth Baur (December 1, 1947 - September 30, 2017) was an American actress. She is perhaps best known for her roles as Teresa O'Brien on the CBS western series, Lancer, with Andrew Duggan, James Stacy, Wayne Maunder, and Paul Brinegar, and as Officer Fran Belding on NBC's crime drama series Ironside.
Born in Los Angeles, California, Baur's father was a veteran casting director at 20th Century Fox and did not want his daughter in the industry. She attended Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles and was a student at Los Angeles Valley College for a year and three-quarters. Baur left college to join a 20th Century Fox program for training actors. The group included Jacqueline Bisset, James Brolin, and Lyle Waggoner. Baur succeeded Barbara Anderson in portraying a female detective on NBC television's Ironside, as her character of Fran Belding replaced Anderson's Eve Whitfield. Baur would work with Anderson in the 1993 TV reunion movie The Return of Ironside, reprising her role as Fran Belding alongside her former co-stars Raymond Burr, Don Galloway and Don Mitchell. Baur was also in the CBS western series Lancer with Andrew Duggan from 1968-1970. She also made appearances on other television shows including Room 222, Emergency!, Fantasy Island, and Remington Steele.
Baur passed away after a lentghy illness on September 30, 2017 at the age of 69.
