There are two key things to know about the Tesla Model Y tax credit in 2*4 (2024):

New Tesla Model Y:

The federal tax credit for new Tesla Model Y vehicles has changed due to the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.
As of now, there are stricter requirements for a new Tesla Model Y to qualify for the full $7,500 credit, including battery component and critical mineral sourcing location.
Important to Remember:

Your tax situation also plays a role in how much credit you can use. The credit is non-refundable, so it can only offset taxes owed, not provide a tax refund.
It's always best to consult with a tax professional to determine your eligibility for the credit and how much you might benefit from it.
Used Tesla Model Y:

For the first time, there's a federal tax credit available for buying a used electric vehicle, including the Tesla Model Y.
This credit is capped at $4,000 or 30% of the purchase price, whichever is less.
There are additional requirements for used EVs to qualify, including model year, price, and income limits.
