Almacena tus criptomonedas de la forma más segura posible: a través de una billetera fría o Cold Wallet. Este va a ser un tutorial sobre instalación paso a paso de la Ledger Nano S.
Hay dos formas de almacenar tus criptomonedas: las billeteras calientes (o Hot wallets), y las billeteras frías (o Cold Wallets).
Las Hot Wallets o billeteras calientes son aplicaciones de software en las que o bien en tu teléfono, o bien en tu ordenador puedes guardar tus criptomonedas. Es una manera muy fácil de guardar tus criptomonedas. Lo que pasa es que estas billeteras están conectadas a internet y como cualquier servicio conectado a internet, está expuesto a ciberataques.
Si quieres el grado más alto de seguridad en criptomonedas, necesitas una cold wallet o billetera fría. Las billeteras frías son dispositivos USB que almacenan tus llaves privadas y que no están conectadas a internet, por eso se llaman cold wallets, ni siquiera cuando las conectas físicamente a tu ordenador.
Las “Cold Wallets” tampoco pueden ser afectadas por un virus o malware que haya en tu computador, son prácticamente impenetrables.
¿Qué pasa si pierdo este dispositivo USB? ¿O se daña, me lo roban? ¿Pierdo mis bitcoins? No te preocupes, aquí lo más importante es guardar tu contraseña de 24 palabras para la billetera en un lugar seguro. Más adelante vamos a explicar esto en detalle.
Entre las mejores billeteras frías o cold wallets, y de la que vamos a hablar hoy, se encuentra Ledger.
Ledger tiene varias billeteras frías: Ledger Nano S, que es la que veremos en este vídeo y que nosotros mismos usamos; o la Ledger Nano X, que tiene más capacidad de almacenamiento. Para aquellos que quieran almacenar unos 3 o 4 tipos de criptomonedas, te recomendamos la nano S, y si quieres almacenar 5 o más criptomonedas, te recomendamos la Nano X.
